Outlook Express E-Mail Configuration Print E-mail
Outlook Express Setup Information
Step 1. Open Outlook, click on Tools, then choose accounts. You should select mail and provide a display name.

Step 2. Input your complege email address and click next.

Step 3. The incoming server type is POP and both the incoming and outgoing servers should be set to securemail.netsville.com.

Step 4. Your account name will be in the form This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , enter your password as well; but do not select SPA: it will cause a failure every time.

Step 5. Click "Finish."

Step 6. You should have been returned to the general mail window. Click on tools > accounts, click on properties and select the servers tab.

Step 7. You need to check "My server requires authentication." Be very certain NOT to check anything to do with Secure Password Authentication - this will cause a failure every time.

Step 8. Click Settings at the bottom of this window and make sure that "Use same setting as my incoming mail server" is checked. Click OK.

Step 9. Click on the advanced tab and make sure that you check "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both incoming and outgoing mail. The default port numbers should be 25 for outgoing mail and 995 for incoming, so you shouldn't need to change anything. If they are not automatically assigned, do so manually, or retrieving mail will not work. Click OK and you are done. When you try and send/receive you may get an error about the ssl certificate's authenticity. Just click "accept." This is common if you are migrating to a new server and the ssl certificate hasn't been moved yet.

Note: Outgoing mail server settings may depend on your internet service provider. If you can receive email but not send with these settings please call your ISP and ask them what your outgoing mail server (aka: SMTP) should be set to.
