<h1>Welcome to Spam Quarantine 5.6 Help</h1>
<p style="color:red"><b>Important!</b> Email messages in quarantine are automatically deleted after 30 days.</p>
<p>
Spam Quarantine allows you to contain and process email messages suspected of being spam, as well as automatically process emails from Safe and Block Senders.
To do this, you maintain lists of senders that are either "Safe" or "Blocked".
In both cases emails from these senders will no longer appear in quarantine.
Messages from safe senders will be directed to your target account and messages from blocked senders will be deleted by the system.

<h2 id="q2">Manage quarantined mail</h2>
<p>Quarantined mail is either spam or it is not spam. In either case, the mail message can be dealt with in a few easy steps.</p>
<h3 id="q1a">Search for Spam</h3>
<p>You can use the <b>Search</b> text box to search for specific messages in your <b>Spam</b> folder.</p>
<ol>
<li>In the <b>Search</b> text box, type the text for which you want to search. You can enter whole words or a string of characters.</li>
<li>
Select the type of search from the drop-down list.<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Senders</b> — Search the From line of the message.</li>
<li><b>Subject</b> — Search the Subject line of the message.</li>
<li><b>Headers</b> — Search the From, Subject, To, and Cc lines of the message.</li>
<li><b>Message</b> — Search the Sender, Subject, and Headers plus the body of the message.</li>
</ul>

<li>Click <b>Search</b>.</li>
</ol>
<h3 id="q1b">Get Rid of Spam</h3>
<p>Quarantined messages that are spam can be selected and deleted. A message deleted from Spam Quarantine is irretrievable.</p>
<p>To delete spam messages</p>
<ol>
<li>
Click the checkbox of the messages that you want to delete.
<p><b>Tip:</b> Click the checkbox in the header row to select ALL the messages on the current page.</p>
</li>
<li>Click <b>Delete Forever</b>.</li>
</ol>
<p>To permanently block senders</p>
<ol>
<li>Click the checkbox next to each of the messages whose senders you want to block.</li>
<li>
From the <b>More Options</b> drop-down list, click <b>Block Senders</b> and then click <b>Go</b>.<br />
A dialog box appears that asks you to confirm that you want to add these senders to your Block list.

<li>Click <b>Add Domain</b> to add the senders' domains to the block list or click <b>Add Senders</b> to add the senders to the block list.</li>
</ol>
<h3 id="q1c">Release Mail from Quarantine (dealing with "Not Spam" Messages)</h3>
<p>Occasionally, a legitimate email will be tagged as spam. There are myriad reasons for this including, but not limited to, content and message routing.</p>
<p>
Marking a message as "Not Spam" immediately releases the message to the mail system for delivery.
It also sends message related data to the filtering engine so that the engine can fine-tune its rules and improve performance.
</p>
<p>To mark a message as Not Spam</p>
<ol>
<li>
Click the checkbox beside the messages that you want to select.
<p><b>Tip:</b> Click the checkbox in the header row to select ALL the messages on the current page.</p>
</li>
<li>
Click the <b>Not Spam</b> button.<br />
The selected messages will be released into the normal mail queues for delivery.
</li>
</ol>
<p>To permanently approve senders</p>
<ol>
<li>Click the checkbox next to each of the messages whose senders you want to permanently approve.</li>
<li>
From the <b>More Options</b> drop-down list, click <b>Safe Sender(s)</b> and then click <b>Go</b>.<br />
A dialog box appears that asks you to confirm that you want to add these senders to your Safe list.

Click <b>Add Domain</b> to add the senders' domains to the safe list or click <b>Add Senders</b> to add the senders to the safe list.
If you choose <b>Add Domain</b>, messages originating from that domain will always be delivered to the account's Inbox.

<h2 id="q48">How do I set a Safe Senders List or a Block Senders List?</h2>
<p>
The Block Sender List allows you to stipulate the email addresses (e.g., john@example.com) and domains (e.g., *@example.com) from which you do not want to receive email.
Any email address or domain added to this list will ensure that messages from the sender are not delivered to quarantine but deleted by the system.
</p>
<p><b>Note:</b> Domain names must be preceded by *@ (e.g., *@domain_name.com)otherwise they will not work.</p>
<p>
The Safe Sender List allows you to stipulate the email addresses (e.g., mom@family.com) and domains (e.g., *@family.com) from which you want to receive email.
By adding an email address or domain to this list you ensure that the emails from these senders will never be marked quarantined but instead be passed directly to your target account.
</p>
<p>To add an email address or domain to a Sender List:</p>
<ol>
<li>In the <a href="#q35"><b>Settings</b></a> window, click <b>Mail</b>.</li>
<li>Type the email address (i.e., username@domain.ext) or domain (i.e., *@domain.ext) In the <b>Block Sender List</b> or <b>Safe Sender List</b> text field.</li>

Click the <b>Add</b> button beside the text field.<br />
The email addresses or domains are added to the list.

<li>Optionally, repeat steps 2 and 3 to add additional addresses or domains.</li>
</ol>
<p>To remove an email address or domain from a Sender List:</p>
<ol>
<li>In the <a href="#q35"><b>Settings</b></a> window, click <b>Mail</b>.</li>
<li>Locate the email address or domain you want to remove in the relevant list.</li>
<li>Click on it to select it. Your selection is highlighted.</li>
<li>
Click <b>Remove</b>.<br />
A dialog box appears that asks you to confirm that you want to remove the email address or domain from the list.

Click <b>OK</b><br />
The email address or domain is removed from the list.

<h2 id="q37">How do I set my display preferences?</h2>
<p>To set display preferences:</p>
<ol>
<li>In the <a href="#q35"><b>Settings</b></a> window, click <b>General</b>, and then click the <b>Display Preferences</b> tab.</li>
<li>From the <b>Items Per Page</b> drop-down menu, choose the number of messages per page that you want to display.</li>
<li>From the <b>Order Items</b> drop-down list, choose whether you want to view items in Ascending or Descending order.</li>
<li>From the <b>Your Time Zone</b> drop-down menu, choose your time zone.</li>
<li>From the <b>Desired Time Format</b> drop-down list, choose whether you want time to be displayed in 12-hour (for example 2:00 pm) or 24-hour format (for example 14:00).</li>
<li>Using the <b>Desired Language</b> drop-down menu, choose the the language for the application.</li>
<li>Click <b>Save</b>.</li>

<h2 id="q39">Spam settings</h2>
<ol>
<li>In the <a href="#q35"><b>Settings</b></a> window, click <b>Spam</b>.</li>
<li>From the <b>Choose Spam Block Level</b> drop-down list, choose the level of spam blocking that you want.
<ul>
<li>If you choose a level other than <b>Normal</b>, the spam filter will be more aggressive in classifying messages as spam.</li>
<li>If you choose <b>Use Default</b>, your mail will be filtered for spam using the level that is set for your domain.</li>
<li>If you choose <b>High</b> or <b>Very High</b>, more messages will be classified as spam; however, you may also find that a lot of innocent messages are also classified as spam. These messages are referred to as False Positives.</li>
</ul>

<h3>False positives</h3>
<p>
False positives are legitimate emails (emails you want to receive) that are erroneously marked as spam.
Webmail has a Not Spam button which should be used to report a mistake by simply selecting the message in the Spam folder and clicking the button.
The mail server then updates its filters and learns from the mistake.
This is why using the actual Spam folder is the preferred spam handling method.
</p>
<p><b>Note:</b> If you set your spam block level to something other than Normal, clicking the Not Spam button will not prevent the spam filter from classifying similar message as spam in the future.</p>

<h2 id="q50">How do I create a new mailbox?</h2>
<p><b>Note:</b> The tasks in this section are only available to domain administrators.</p>
<p>To create a new mailbox</p>
<ol>
<li>Click the <b>Admin</b> tab.</li>
<li>Click <b>Add New Mailbox</b>.</li>
<li>From the <b>Mailbox Type</b> drop-down list, choose the type of account: <b>Regular</b>, <b>Filter-Only</b>, <b>Alias</b>, or <b>Forward-Only</b>.</li>

Complete the fields as outlined in the table below.<br />
<b>Note:</b> The fields that you see depends on the account type that you choose.
