This page describes how to use the NextGen Gallery for wordpress. This page will be a work in progress until I finish the rest of the slide shows.
Making the Gallery
- From the Dashboard hoover over the Gallery tab on the left
- Click "Add Gallery/Images"
- Click Add Files
- Select all the images you would like (by holding CTRL and clicking the images)
- Name the Gallery
- Click Start Upload
Making the Post
- Directly after making the gallery/uploading the pictures, hoover over posts then click add new (make sure your under the visual tab).
- Input your title or other content (or you can wait, it doesn't matter).
- Select the NextGen Gallery button on the end of the options bar.
- Choose the NextGen Basic ImageBrowser.
- After this step click on the next option "What would you like to display?". This is where you input the gallery you created in the first part so in our case "NextGen TEST"
- After typing the first few characters, it should auto-fill the name of the gallery and you click it
- In this last step you have the option to exclude some some pictures in the gallery. It also helps to let you know what exactly is in the gallery before posting. Then after this click save.
- Publish.
- Here's a preview of what it currently looks up to this point.
- From the dashboard, hover over the Gallery tab on the right and click "Manage Galleries"
- Navigate to the gallery you created and are adding to your post (In our case "NextGen TEST").
- After clicking on the gallery, you can see some of the various options avialable at the top from changing the title, description, preview image, etc.
- From here you can see that the images names are the same as the filename which will appear in the title.
- So changing that will add text over the top of the ImageBrowser. Also the boxes underneath the title box is the description spot, this text will appear underneath the ImageBrowser.
- After making changes click the "Save Changes" button.
- Example 1:
- Example 2:
- Example 3:
- To set watermarks, you will need to go back your gallery that you were managing and select all the images you want watermarked.
- Underneath the bulk actions drop down, you will need to select "Set watermark" then click apply.
- Click ok or yes
- Wait for it to complete
- Then your pretty much done, here are some examples of the watermarked images
